How to remove and install Crankshaft Pulley in 5.0L V8 engine on Mercury Grand Marquis?

Mark the crankshaft pulley and vibration damper for reassembly in their original positions, as they are balanced together. Unbolt and remove the pulley, ensuring to mark it and the vibration damper beforehand; the large vibration damper bolt may be tight, so a six-point socket and breaker bar are recommended for loosening. Remove the bolt from the front of the crankshaft, preventing it from turning by wedging a large screwdriver between the teeth of the starter ring gear against the transmission housing. Use a puller to detach the vibration damper, ensuring it applies force only to the hub to avoid damage. Clean the crankshaft nose and seal contact surface of the vibration damper, keeping the Woodruff key in the crankshaft keyway.
