The oil pump is available only as a complete replacement unit, with no service parts or repair specifications provided by the manufacturer. Begin by unbolting and lowering the oil pan, ensuring it does not need to be completely removed. Next, detach the two bolts connecting the oil pump pick-up tube to the oil pump. Proceed to remove the timing cover, timing chains, chain guides, and crankshaft sprockets. Then, take out the four oil pump mounting bolts and remove the oil pump from the engine block. Before installation, prime the oil pump by pouring clean oil into the pick-up port and turning the pump by hand. Inspect the O-ring gasket on the pick-up tube and replace it if damaged. Install the oil pump back into the engine, tightening the bolts to the specified torque. Complete the installation by reversing the removal procedure, filling the engine with the appropriate type and quantity of oil, starting the engine, and checking for leaks.
