How to remove and install Oil Pan Baffle and oil pan in 4.0L pushrod V6 engine on Ford Ranger?

To complete the removal the procedure of the engine the comes down to the following steps, the first one is to disconnect the engine from the car, the second step is to unbolt the oil pan. This must be done for both the top and bottom bolts of the crankshaft rear oil seal, and if necessary, the fasteners that secure the baffle must also be removed and the baffle disconnected. For installation ensure to put spacers in between the oil pan and the transmission to avoid scratching it or having it leak. Scrape of all the old gasket materials around the oil pan and on the mounting surface using gasket scraper and solvent. Screw the pan temporarily on the engine and tighten four nuts; then, using a micrometer, examine the distance from the mounting pads to a straightedge. After finding out the thickness of the spacer needed, the RTV sealant should then be applied on the gasket surfaces and the crankshaft rear oil seal area; same goes to the seams of the engine block and that of the timing-chain cover. Put a new pan gasket, then the oil pan followed by a proper tightening of the fasteners. Last of all, slot the spacers into the mounting pads and then fix the engine onto the transmission.
