    Q:
How to remove and install wiper motors, windshield washer reservoir and washer pump on Ford Fusion? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to remove the wiper motor if 2012 and earlier models, one has to take off the wiper arm nuts and place a mark on the wiper arm shaft then removes the both wiper arms. Next, remove the hand that is black and plastic on the cowl and then you unplug the electrical connection of the wiper motor. The wiper motor and link assembly require the use of a trim removal tool or a flat head screwdriver to have the two mounting bolts removed from the link to crank arm joint, thus separating the linkage. Lose the bolt connecting the crank arm and the motor shaft, place a scratchmark on the crank arm, in relation to the motor shaft, and finally, you set the crank arm aside. Take out the two motor mounting bolts and pull the motor out from its mounting bracket, how to install is as follows but in reverse. For the models manufactured since 2013, the vehicles have L & R wiper motors, and the procedure starts with the removal of the wiper arms and the cowl panel trim, the separation of the electrical connection of the wiper motor, and the removal of the bolts that hold the motor to the vehicle, and then the extraction of the wiper motor from the vehicle; while the installation process is done in reverse with the tightening of the As for the WSR and WP, the right-front wheel lug nuts should be loosened and the front of the vehicle should be raised on jackstands; the wheel should then be removed, as well as the inner fender splash shield. In order to open it, if required remove the bolts has been holding the outer edge of the bumper to the fender and remove the under vehicle close out covers. Locate the washer pump wires or hoses and relax the connectors from the pump to the wires and set a drain pan underneath the reservoir to catch the washer fluid. Disconnect the hoses connected to the washer pump, keep a mark of which ones go where so they can be reattached. The washer pump is situated such that the reservoir does not have to be detached if only the pump is to be replaced; if only the pump is to be replaced, proceed as follows: Remove the bolts that holds the washer reservoir to the vehicle and pull the washer reservoir from the bottom. For the washer pump, unplug the grommet and pull out the pump and to replace the washer pump one must fix a new grommet. Removal and installation share similarity with a general definition that installation is the removal in a reverse manner.

    Q:
How to replace the wiper motor and windshield washer reservoir or washer pump on Ford Taurus? Posted by Customer
    A:
As of 2008 models, start by disconnecting the battery's negative terminal cable. Note down where the wiper arms connect to the linkage shafts. Then you can remove their nuts. Start by unscrewing the plastic cowl covering, and get rid of the three bolts that connect the wiper linkage piece. Pull up slightly to separate the electric connector, then take away entire wiper-bulge assembly, including hard parts. Pull out the three bolts that hold the motor and the metal bar on the linkage arm. Take care to have the motor in the parking position before taking out the metal bar. Use your trim removal tool or screwdriver to carefully pull the linkage away from the motor's crank arm. Put the new motor back on the linkage, make sure all the bolts are tight, connect the electricity correctly, all the while keeping tools and extra stuff away. Before removing anything else, rotate the wipers with the ignition on so the motor moves to its parking position. After putting everything back in its place, adjust the wiper arms: position the passenger blade 1.5 inches high and the driver's blade 2 inches high. Hit the switch once more to view how well the wipers align. Adjust them if needed. To get at the washer reservoir or pump for replacement, take off the lower front air deflector shield and right side inner fender splash shield. Pull off the fluid sensor and washer pump connections, then unplug the washer pump and let the tank empty of fluid. Take off the bottom screw holding the reservoir, the two round washers, and then carefully lift the reservoir directly from below. If the washer pump needs replacing, remove the damaged rubber grommet that keeps it in place along the tank. Installation is the reverse of removal.
