Ford Taurus Washer Pump

The Ford Taurus Washer Pump helps to keep the windshield clean by pushing windshield cleaning fluid through the nozzles onto the windshield to allow for a clear view of the road. Every Ford system uses a tiny electric motor to spin an impeller that pressurizes fluid in the reservoir. Tubing sends the spray to the wiper area to quickly remove dirt. In the Taurus automobiles, the Washer Pump is located at the bottom of the tank, which helps keep it primed due to gravity. When the driver taps the stalk switch, quick washer jets are activated. Older Taurus versions placed the Washer Pump outside the tank, while later Ford versions mold it directly into the reservoir. The design is basically the same, but each Ford unit can have simple wiring that is plug-and-swap and flows similarly to that of other units. In the event of a Washer Pump failure, symptoms include silence or weak spray. The cost of components is low, while labor generally adds a little, making the Taurus Washer Pump affordable to maintain.

We provide a wide range of Ford Taurus Washer Pump at the optimal prices. If you need Ford Taurus Washer Pump, you can shop with confidence on our website. All our OEM parts come with a manufacturer's warranty and are delivered to your doorstep with a fast delivery service.

Ford Taurus Washer Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the wiper motor and windshield washer reservoir or washer pump on Ford Taurus?
    A:
As of 2008 models, start by disconnecting the battery's negative terminal cable. Note down where the wiper arms connect to the linkage shafts. Then you can remove their nuts. Start by unscrewing the plastic cowl covering, and get rid of the three bolts that connect the wiper linkage piece. Pull up slightly to separate the electric connector, then take away entire wiper-bulge assembly, including hard parts. Pull out the three bolts that hold the motor and the metal bar on the linkage arm. Take care to have the motor in the parking position before taking out the metal bar. Use your trim removal tool or screwdriver to carefully pull the linkage away from the motor's crank arm. Put the new motor back on the linkage, make sure all the bolts are tight, connect the electricity correctly, all the while keeping tools and extra stuff away. Before removing anything else, rotate the wipers with the ignition on so the motor moves to its parking position. After putting everything back in its place, adjust the wiper arms: position the passenger blade 1.5 inches high and the driver's blade 2 inches high. Hit the switch once more to view how well the wipers align. Adjust them if needed. To get at the washer reservoir or pump for replacement, take off the lower front air deflector shield and right side inner fender splash shield. Pull off the fluid sensor and washer pump connections, then unplug the washer pump and let the tank empty of fluid. Take off the bottom screw holding the reservoir, the two round washers, and then carefully lift the reservoir directly from below. If the washer pump needs replacing, remove the damaged rubber grommet that keeps it in place along the tank. Installation is the reverse of removal.
