Ford F4TZ-6068-C Engine Support Insulator Assembly

For early 4WO models, remove the lower insulator retainers and insulators, then remove the insulator bolts. Place a jack under the transmission and raise it enough to remove the upper insulators between the transmission bracket and crossmember. Install new upper insulators with the protruding shoulder facing down through the crossmember. Lower the transmission and install the insulator bolts, tightening the lower insulator retainer assemblies to the specified torque. Remove the jackstands and lower the vehicle, then test drive to confirm proper operation.

Check the mounts to see if the rubber is cracked, hardened, or separated from the metal plates. Sometimes the rubber will split right down the center.

If the mount is okay, remove the jackstands and lower the vehicle.
