How to remove and install the rear window regulator on Ford Explorer?

Before the trim panel and the watershield are removed, the power window electrical connector of the regulator should be disconnected if the car is fitted with one. Then Moisten the new door window glass and insert it securely in the fully raised position of the car door before finally removing it. Then remove the nuts and washers fixing the window guide, if any; pull up the guide from the door through the top. In power windows, the motor bracket rivets have to be drilled at the center next to which the regulator rivets as well as the nuts have to be taken off. For installation reverse all the aforesaid removal procedures and be careful to fasten the regulator rivets with 1/4-20 x 112inch bolts, nuts and washers or metric equivalent if available. Last, open an close the window few time to see how it function and then refit the watershield and trim panel.

How to remove and install a power window regulator on Ford Ranger?

If you're working on a vehicle with power windows, disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Remove the door trim panel and watershield. Remove the window glass. Disconnect the window motor electrical connector. Carefully drill out the rivets that secure the regulator base plate to the inner door panel. Remove the nuts that secure the glass guide channel to the door. Remove the regulator from the door, along with the power window motor if equipped, and detach the window motor from the regulator if necessary. Attach the regulator to the inner door panel using rivets or suitable bolts, nuts, and washers, ensuring they are tightened securely. The remainder of installation follows the reverse order of removal.

A window regulator, also known as an actuator, is the mechanism that physically moves a car window up and down. Before the trim panel and the watershield are removed, the power window electrical connector of the regulator should be disconnected if the car is fitted with one. Then Moisten the new door window glass and insert it securely in the fully raised position of the car door before finally removing it. Then remove the nuts and washers fixing the window guide, if any; pull up the guide from the door through the top. In power windows, the motor bracket rivets have to be drilled at the center next to which the regulator rivets as well as the nuts have to be taken off. For installation reverse all the aforesaid removal procedures and be careful to fasten the regulator rivets with 1/4-20 x 112inch bolts, nuts and washers or metric equivalent if available. Last, open an close the window few time to see how it function and then refit the watershield and trim panel.

Attach the regulator to the inner door panel using rivets or suitable bolts, nuts, and washers, ensuring they are tightened securely. The remainder of installation follows the reverse order of removal.
