For 2009 and earlier models, begin by carefully prying off the shifter trim surrounding the shifter, then loosen the console finish panel and cup holder from the mounting clips. Use a trim removal tool to pry out the left and right side trim panels from the console, and raise the seats to their highest position before sliding them forward to remove the two rear console bolts. Slide the seats back to access and remove the two forward console bolts, followed by the two front console bolts on each side. Remove the storage bin fasteners and the bin itself, then take out the console-to-instrument panel bolts located just below the heater/air conditioner control assembly. Lift the console and disconnect all electrical connectors before removing the center console, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2010 and later models, apply the parking brake and set the shift lever to neutral, then slide the front seats all the way back and recline them fully. Use a trim tool to pry off the console edge trim from both sides, disconnecting the electrical connector on the passenger's side. Protect the console by placing cardboard or a rag between the panels as you remove the lower panel. Push forward on the lower side trim panels to disengage the pin-type retainers, then remove them. Use a trim removal tool to carefully pry out the left and right side trim panels. Remove the shift lever mounting screws and the lever, then lift the cup holder assembly after removing its four screws. Disconnect the main harness connector at the base of the cup holder and remove the assembly. Take out the four screws from the shift lever trim panel, disengage the boot tabs, and remove the panel. Remove the four screws from the media/storage compartment, disconnect the electrical connector from the light/outlet, and unclip the ambient light harness from the front finish panel before removing it. Detach the shift cable from the shift lever and bracket, disconnect the main harness electrical connector from the firewall, and any remaining connectors from the console. Detach the carpet-to-console fasteners and remove the console mounting bolts from both the top and base of the console. Finally, lift the console from the rear, disconnect any electrical connectors attached at the rear, and complete installation in reverse order.
