Remove the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and then, unbolt the drivebelt from the power steering pulley. The return hose must be detached at the pump and drained into a basin, and the pressure hose must be removed from the pump, and, if applicable, the seal must be discarded. To have the drivebelt pulley out, the pump pulley removal tool needs to be fitted on the pulley, holding the pulley and rotating the tool nut in an anticlockwise direction to get the pulley disengaged from the pump and not applying hard force on the pulley shaft as this will result to damaging the internal working of the pump. Fourth, unbolt the mounting bracket to the pump, and then unbolting, pump and pulley through the mounting bracket hold. For installation use the bracket and fit the pump into the bracket then include the mounting bolts, torque to the recommended level. Insert the splined end of the pulley onto the pump shaft and then use the special pulley installation tool to press the pulley hub on to the end of the shaft with in 0.010 inch of furthest bearing face. Place the drivebelt onto the pump and fix the pressure and return hose pipes to the right ports on the pump in case they are replaceable then place a new seal on the pressure hose if required. Last, pour the recommended fluid in the pump reservoir with the system and perform the necessary venting.
