How to disconnect and remove the air filter box and related components on Ford Ranger?

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose on V6 models. Next, detach the electrical connector at the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and the electrical connector at the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor if equipped. Loosen the air filter box clamps at the engine air cleaner and the throttle body to remove the box. For later models, loosen and remove the clamps at both ends of the air filter housing duct, disconnect all electrical connectors and hoses, and lift the duct from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, ensuring that all clamps and fittings are tightened securely.
