To remove the air intake duct, first disconnect the PCV fresh air hose. For turbocharged four-cylinder models, loosen the clamp at the air intake duct and the charge air cooler inlet tube, then remove the intake duct, ensuring to cover open ports to protect them from debris to avoid damaging the turbocharger compressor vanes. For V6 models, loosen the clamps at the Air Filter Box and the throttle body, then carefully remove the air duct. The installation process is the reverse of removal. Next, remove the air intake duct, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor, and take off the Air Filter Box cover and filter element. Remove the mounting bolts and pull up on the housing to detach the locating pins from the grommets. Inspect the condition of the filter housing mounting grommets and replace them if they are cracked, torn, or deteriorated. The installation process is again the reverse of removal.
