How to remove and install the air intake duct and air filter house on Ford Fusion?

To service the air intake duct, first disconnect the PCV fresh air hose, and for Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle models, also disconnect the secondary air injection hose. For 1.5L and 1.6L engines, lift the engine cover off the ballstuds and remove it. For 2.0L models, loosen the clamp at the air outlet duct and the Charge Air Cooler inlet tube, then remove the intake duct. For all other models, loosen the clamps at the air Filter Box and the throttle body to remove the air outlet duct, with installation being the reverse of removal. To access the air Filter Box, remove the air intake duct(s) and disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor. Next, remove the air Filter Box cover and filter element, then pull up on the housing to detach the locating pins from the grommets. Inspect the condition of the filter Box mounting grommets and replace them if they are cracked, torn, or deteriorated, with installation again being the reverse of removal.
