To remove the air intake duct one has to pull out the PCV fresh air inlet hose from the duct using the Type III quick-connect coupling tang by applying pressure with a screw driver and then removing the hose clamp screw to disconnect the air intake duct from the
Throttle Body. After that, the hose clamp should be released at the Air Filter Box end of the duct, after which this component should be pulled off the housing. In order to remove the Air Filter Box, it is necessary to pull the duct loose from that housing and then to unplug the electrical connector at the MAF sensor and then remove the retaining bolt. When lifting the Air Filter Box, be careful on the locator pin and grommet, they should be pulled upward to release. Check the rubber grommet for signs of wear and tear and if it is worn replace it. Restoration is done in the order which is opposite to the one followed during uninstallation.
