    How to remove and install the A/C Switch control head in a Ford Bronco II? Posted by Customer

    To remove the A/C Switch, disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the ashtray and drawer slide bracket. Pull the finish panel away from the instrument panel. Disconnect the wire from the 4x4 transfer switch. Remove the four screws attaching the control assembly. Pull the control through the instrument panel opening. Remove the vacuum harness from the vacuum switch. Release the temperature and function cable snap-in flags. Remove the temperature and function cables. Remove the control assembly. To install the A/C Switch, pull the control cables through the instrument panel opening. Attach the function and temperature cables to the control assembly. Connect the wiring harness and vacuum hose. Secure the control assembly with mounting screws. Reconnect the 4x4 electric shift harness. Install the cluster finish panel. Reinstall the ashtray and drawer slide bracket. Reconnect the battery cable and test the control assembly.

The control assembly is then pulled out to disengage electrical connectors, disconnect the vacuum harness, release the temperature control snap-in flange, and finally, the control assembly is rotated and removed.
