    The correct engine timing is achieved when the camshaft alignment tool(s) is in place, the timing pin is inserted, and the crankshaft pulley TDC tooth is in a center line with the CKP sensor (2014 and earlier models) or crankshaft pulley guide hole and timing chain cover guide hole are aligned (2015 and later models), simultaneously.

    With the tooth on the crankshaft pulley in a center line with the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor, install the camshaft alignment tool and check the position of the camshafts. If the tool cannot be installed, the engine timing must be corrected by repeating the installation procedure. The correct engine timing is achieved when the camshaft alignment tool is in place, timing pin is inserted, and the crankshaft pulley TDC tooth is aligned with the CKP sensor, simultaneously.
