To detach the headlight housing from the vehicle, remove the three retaining bolts for models from 2004 through 2008, and for 2011 and later models, also remove the pushpin securing the flap over the side of the headlight housing. After removing the three bolts, pull the headlight housing away from the body enough to disconnect the electrical connectors. Next, pull out the headlight housing assembly and disconnect the electrical connectors from the front turn signal/parking light, headlight, and front side marker light bulbs by depressing the release tabs and pulling off the connectors. If replacing the headlight bulb or the front side marker or turn signal/parking light bulb, follow the appropriate procedures. Installation is the reverse of removal, and once completed, adjust the headlights accordingly.

The headlights must be aimed correctly to avoid blinding oncoming drivers, which could lead to serious accidents or impair visibility. It is important to check the aim every 12 months and whenever a new headlight housing is installed or front-end bodywork is done. The following procedure provides a temporary adjustment until a professional can perform a proper alignment. Vehicles have a vertical adjustment screw accessible through a hole in the radiator crossmember, which can be adjusted using a Phillips screwdriver. Adjustments should be made on a level surface with a full gas tank and normal load. A simple method involves using masking tape on a blank wall to mark the vehicle centerline and the centerline of each headlight bulb, along with a horizontal tape line for reference. Position the vehicle 25 feet from the wall, level, with a half-full gas tank and no heavy load. The high intensity zone should be set two inches below the horizontal line and two inches to the side of the headlight vertical line, away from oncoming traffic, with adjustments made by turning the horizontal screw. High beams are automatically adjusted with the low beam. It is advisable to have the headlights properly adjusted by a dealer service department or service station as soon as possible.
