    To prevent engine wear, it is important to change the oil often. Get all the tools and supplies you need. Lift the vehicle and find the drain plug and oil filter. Start the engine, let it warm up, and park on a level surface. Remove the oil filler cap and drain plug while being careful of hot parts. Check if there are any metallic particles on the old oil. Reinstall it securely once you clean it well enough. Clean the mounting surface before installing the new filter and remove the old one after loosening to clean its mounting surface too. Lower the vehicle and add new oil. Check for leaks by inspecting the level first. Make sure that old oil is disposed of properly. No matter how much time passes by some things just stay important.
