When all the components have been removed the following steps must be followed; disconnect the negative terminal of the battery then unscrew the crankshaft pulley. Subsequently, the Crankshaft position (CKP) electrical connector should be removed followed by relocation of the wiring harness from the Timing Cover, using the wire clamps. The CKP sensor should then be unwired and then set aside here, it is pointed out that whenever a CKP sensor is pulled out then a new one has to be fitted because the new one is fitted with a special alignment tool. Go ahead and take off the drivebelt and the tensioner after that the water pump pulley. Remove the electrical connector of the power steering pressure switch which is mounted at any high pressure hose within the power steering. Take off the single bolt of the lower left corner in the power steering pump and shift it to the side. If installed, in order to remove the cooling fan drive pulley, it has to be done with a three-jaw puller while it is possible to leave it in place in the event the Timing Cover is not to be replaced. There is a mounting bolt for the Timing Cover underneath this pulley, which can be reached through one of the pulley holes. Last but not the least, take out the bolts as well as the Timing Cover. For installation, the process is the same as the process of removing the cooling fan but when tightening the bolts of the cooling fan drive pulley, make sure that the pulley is fitted to the Timing Cover using flat washers a bolt and a nut. Cleansing of mating surfaces should not be done using harsh abrasives and the Timing Cover should be fitted within four minutes of applying a 2.5mm bead of silicone sealant. Loosen all bolts to conform with at least the loosening torque and then tighten all the bolts to conform to the installation torque while adhering to the sequence and the pattern used, also ensure to realign the engine while using a new crankshaft position sensor that contains the alignment tool.
