Mercury Mariner Camshaft Position Sensor

The engine control unit gets the timing signals from the Mercury Mariner Camshaft Position Sensor to trigger the right fuel injectors and sparks. Depending on the model year, a Camshaft Position Sensor may be located above the camshaft, behind the cylinder head, or near the engine block. This little electronic eye tracks camshaft speed and orientation. Its signal keeps sequential injectors pulsing in the correct firing order to stop stalls before they start. Applied with the crank sensor, the Camshaft Position Sensor helps the control module align pistons with valves during cranking so the four-stroke cycle synchronizes right away, making starting and idling smooth on every Mercury Mariner. An accurate Camshaft Position Sensor is essential for balanced power, good fuel economy, and clear RPM readings. An inaccurate unit can cause misfires, hesitations, or a no-start. For the Mercury Mariner, no radically different styles have appeared over the years, but mounting points vary. Nevertheless, every Camshaft Position Sensor has the same job of keeping all Mercury Mariners' engines running in harmony.

We provide a wide range of Mercury Mariner Camshaft Position Sensor at the optimal prices. If you need Mercury Mariner Camshaft Position Sensor, you can shop with confidence on our website. When the battery is disconnected and reconnected the PCM require.relearn its strategy on idle and fuel trim for good driveability and performance. For V6 models, the starting point is always the negative terminal of the battery cable. The CMP sensor is at the right end of the front cylinder head; unplug the sensor connector, and then remove the bolt, and then, the CMP sensor. Installation is the reverse of the steps outlined above with emphasis placed on making sure that the CMP sensor bolt is tightened to the manufacturers recommended torque.
