How to remove and install the Variable Timing Sprocket on the camshaft and crankshaft in a DOHC four-cylinder engine on a Ford Ranger?

In order to displace the camshaft sprockets, let the first detract the timing chain and likewise the camshaft alignment tool in case it is fitted. With a wrench apply it on the hexagonal part which is at the camshaft to make it fixed while by turning the camshaft sprocket bolt which is located just next to the second lobe of the front lobe. It is necessary to discharge but to mark all camshaft sprockets for the subsequent reassembly. Next the oil cooler bolted to the front of the engine can be fitted into this part Now the engine front cover can be fitted. The crankshaft sprocket which bolts to the oil pump drive sprocket can be detached from the crankshaft when the oil pump drive chain is removed. In particular, only factory parts should be installed on the crankshaft sprocket to replace the washers on both sides, otherwise there can be severe damage to the engine.

Q: How to remove and install the Variable Timing Sprocket on the camshaft and crankshaft in a DOHC four-cylinder engine on a Ford Ranger?

In order to displace the camshaft sprockets, let the first detract the timing chain and likewise the camshaft alignment tool in case it is fitted.
