Do not drop the wastegate actuator or further dismantle the turbocharger, this may cause further damage to the wastegate actuator and or the turbocharger as well as the engine. It is always advisable to seal any entry point when ever you are pulling of the turbo charger, the charge air cooler or the cooler tubes and vice versa, always see that you clean all the entry points you are about to use before you seal them. With reference to four-cylinder engines, it is recommended that one should first safely lift the car on hydraulic jack stands. Lift the bonnet and pull the clips and withdraw the engine cover for 1.5L and 1.6L engines then take away the under-vehicle splash shield. For Petrol engines of 1.6 L, unbolt the right side of the driveaxle and intermediate shaft bearing support and also unbolt the catalytic converter. Next is removal of the charge air cooler inlet tube and the turbocharger inlet pipe, and you will have to drain the cooling system. To inspect coolant line hoses there is needed to 1. Disconnect the turbocharger heat shield 2. Take off sealing washers and detach coolant line hoses. Remove the inline oil supply filter and switch off the oil supply to the filter. Remove vacuum hoses from cylinder head and intake, disconnect electrical connector from the sensor, unbolt the coolant hoses, and remove the oil drain tube; discard the gasket. Depower the mounting nuts, for easing the removing process, use stud removing tool to remove the studs and ease the removing process of the turbocharger. For modification of 2.7L V6 engine, it is necessary to seize the engine lower shield, to drain off the coolant and to disconnect the outlet pipes from the air filter housing. As for the decreased left-side turbocharger, remove the outlet pipe, heat shield and electrical connectors. As with the right-side turbo, you will need to unmount the cowl panel, right front wheel, and the lower Charge Air Cooler intake pipe. Pull out the oil supply tube and substitute O-rings and then eliminate the turbocharger filter. Remove both the coolant tube and the wastegate control hose, and the oil return tube; replace the O-rings where appropriate. Last, untwist the turbocharger and bolt new mounting studs, then secure the turbocharger and twine all the nuts and bolts retaining the particular torque. Replace the new oil drain tube and gaskets and fix the car in the same order in which you removed them, and recharge the cooling system and get a new engine oil and filter.
