Start by disconnecting the negative battery cable and draining the cooling system. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from its fitting to locate the thermostat housing. In case of any damages, consider replacing it. The hoses, air conditioning compressor, stud bolts, and harness retaining clips should be taken off from the housing. Twist and separate them to discard housing o-rings from the
Water Pump's thermostat. The alternator, valve and its o-ring with electrical connector disconnected from the heater shutoff must be removed, and then hoses detached from the thermostat housing. Discard these gaskets then remove the bolts associated with housing. Remove the heater hose, disconnect the electrical connector for the knock sensor, remove the thermostat housing bolts, detach the housing and remove the radiator hose as well. Remove filter housing and duct for 3.5L V6 engines and also take away fasteners as well as thermostat housing cover.
