Several electrical accessories in the vehicle, such as the fuel injection system,
Horns, starter, and fog lamps, use relays to transmit the electrical signal to the component. Relays operate by using a low-current circuit to open and close a high-current circuit. If a relay is defective, the associated component will not function properly. Most relays are mounted in the engine compartment and interior fuse/relay boxes, with the engine compartment fuse and relay panel located on the left side of the engine compartment and the passenger compartment fuse box situated on the Smart Junction Box under the left end of the instrument panel.
