To remove the Mass Air Flow (MAF)/Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) start by removing the air intake duct and disconnecting the electrical connector from the MAF/IMT sensor. Remove the MAF/IMT sensor mounting fasteners and remove the sensor from the air filter housing. Installation is the reverse of removal.

How to replace the IAT sensors in a Ford Fusion?

There are two Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor used: the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is located on the air filter housing outlet and the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is located on the turbocharger air outlet pipe. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Lift the engine cover up and off of the ballstuds, then remove the cover. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor. Remove the sensor by turning it counter clockwise and pulling it out of the air outlet duct. Installation is the reverse of removal.
