How do you remove and install the driver's airbag, passenger's airbag, side airbag, and side curtain airbag module on Ford Focus?

To alter the driver's airbag first, disable the power supply by pulling the negative cable. Whereas on the 2007 and earlier models remove the first airbag mounting bolt by turning the steering wheel in order to align one of the bolt holes with it and then unscrew and take it out and turn the steering wheel further to remove the second bolt. For 2008 and later models, there are three holes at the back of the air bag, you must take a flat blade screw driver to one of the holes to unlock the pin from the retainer and repeat this procedure for the other two retainers. Gradually pull the airbag unit away from the steering wheel to unlock the clips, then disconnectivity the wiring multi-plugs and remove the airbag from the car and then it should be stood in an upright position with its cover facing upwards. Removal and installation procedures are the exact opposite of each other but with the installation process involving more caution in the handling of the card. For the passengers side airbag in the 2007 and earlier models, you need to remove the negative terminal of the battery, then apply a flat-bladed tool to unlock the retaining clips on the airbag module trim cover and then you have to remove the 4 airbag unit mounting screws to pull the unit from the dash. Remove the wiring multi-plug by unscrewing it from the airbag unit using long-nosed plugs. In a more literal sense, installation is the very opposite of removal. To gain access to the airbag module, one has to take out the instrument panel and disconnect the cables linked to the passenger airbag, remove the right and center vent ducts, and disconnect the cables linked to the message center, before finally removing all the nine airbag mounting screws as well as the two bolts linking the airbag module to the instrument panel before pulling it out. Removal and installation are the two things that are reciprocals of one another. The side airbag units are installed into the front seat and assembly of them entails the removal of the seat fabric and that should be done by a dealer or a qualified repair shop. The only way to replace the side curtain airbag modules is to strip the headliner and sometimes dealing with body work which should only be administered by a dealer or a qualified repair shop.
