How to replace a Headlight Bulb on Ford Excursion?

To replace a halogen bulb of the aerodynamic type, turn the Headlight Bulb cover and pull it from the rear of the Headlamp housing onward and disconnect the electrical connector clips of the bulb holder. To remove the Headlight Bulb retaining ring conveniently, turn it anti-clockwise by 1/8 turn as seen at the rear of the housing and pull out the ring and the bulb from the housing. When fixing a new bulb always avoid contacting the surface of the glass part of the bulb, if you have to clean it with ethanol. Pull out the old bulb and then twist the new bulb without touching the glass into the socket and then replace it into the Headlamp housing by tightening the retaining ring which should be clockwise. Last but not the least, connect the electrical connectors, check the working of the Headlamp and finally shut the hood. In the case of the sealed beam type, begin by eradicating the parking light bulbs and assembly; thereafter, the Headlamp bezel can be detached by unfastening the upper and lower mounting screws. Subsequently, unscrew the Headlamp ring screws and pull the electrical connector back as well as out to pull out the Headlamp. Restoration is the complete opposite of elimination-reattach the Headlamp, put back the retaining ring, check the function of the Headlamp and shut the bonnet.
