To replace the multi-function switch, first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Next, remove the steering column covers and the ignition lock cylinder. Then, remove the retaining screws, disconnect the electrical connectors, and detach the turn signal switch from the steering column. Installation is the reverse of removal. For the cruise control switches, begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal, then remove the driver's side airbag from the steering wheel. Release the cruise control switch retaining clips, disconnect the switch, and remove it from the steering wheel. Note that 2006 and later models have two cruise control switches, one on either side, and if audio switches are present, carefully cut the wire ties on the wiring bundle to separate the cruise control switches. Installation is the reverse of removal, and when reinstalling the 2006 and later cruise control switches, use the smallest size of plastic tie-wraps to rebundle the wiring.
