Pop the
Hood and set it on a height to be supported by the prop rod, then, do away with the prop rod. Then, remove the units of the headlight including the turn signal and even the radiator grille. The screws that attach the fender inner splash shield have to be unscrewed and if fitted, the running board has to be also detached. Go ahead and unscrew the fender-to-rocker panel bolts and retainers and, if the car is of a later model, the two pushpins that are behind the lower rear of the fender at the rocker panel. Take out other bolts holding the fender to the grille opening as well as the fender-to-radiator support bolts. Lift the fender a little to gain access to the fender-to-door pillar bolts and then take out the other fender mounting bolts of which some of them are used to hold the top of the fender firmly in place. Last of all, remove the fender by unbolting it where necessary and an assistant should hold it as it is swung out of the car to avoid rubbing against other body works. This, a process reverse of removal, entails the use of specified procedure to install.
