    Locate the upstream oxygen sensor you wish to replace and disconnect the electrical connector.Use a special oxygen sensor socket to unscrew the sensor.Clean the threads of the sensor bore in the exhaust manifold after removing the old sensor.If reinstalling the old sensor, apply anti-seize compound to the threads. If installing a new sensor, it is not necessary as new sensors already have anti-seize compound.Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to tighten the upstream sensor to the specified torque.
