    What should be done after unbolting the Crankshaft Seal and carrier on the 2001 Ford Escape? Posted by Don O.
    A:

    Apply a coat of light engine oil to the lip of the new seal and press it into position using a seal replacer tool, if available. If not, tap the seal into position with a socket with an outside diameter slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the seal.
