Keep the hood or rear liftgate open, and two people need to help because it's heavy and hard to handle. Unclip the retaining clips at each strut end with a screwdriver. Then pull or push hard to pull the strut free from its place. Someone else must hold up the liftgate while you get ready to take out the support strut. Unclip the strut using a small screwdriver, pull it out, and get the clip off the bottom end where it fits on the car. Installation is the reverse of removal.
