Ford G2MZ-11002-BH Starter Motor Assembly

Do not immediately assume that the starter is causing the problem. First, check the following items: a) Make sure that the battery cable clamps are clean and tight where they connect to the battery. b) Check the condition of the battery cables and replace any defective ones with new parts. c) Test the condition of the battery; if it does not pass all tests, replace it with a new battery. d) Check the starter solenoid wiring and connections. e) Check the starter mounting bolts for tightness. f) Ensure that the shift lever is in PARK or NEUTRAL (for automatic transaxle) or that the clutch pedal is pressed (for manual transaxle). g) Check the adjustment of the Transmission Range (TR) sensor on vehicles with an automatic transaxle. For manual transaxle vehicles, ensure that the Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) switch is correctly installed. h) Check the operation of the starter relay located in the engine compartment fuse and relay box.

Remove the two bolts (in a vertical position) and lift the starter motor from the transaxle.
