    With the assembly mounted in a vise, connect one jumper cable from the negative battery terminal to the body of the starter and another from the positive battery terminal to the B+ terminal on the starter. Observe if the solenoid plunger, shift lever, and overrunning clutch extend and rotate the pinion drive.
