    Remove the disc brake caliper, brake disc, and, on 2WD models, the disc brake splash shield. Wire the caliper to the underbody to prevent damage to the brake hose. On 2WD models with ABS, remove the ABS sensor.

    Remove the upper ball joint pinch bolt nut and pinch bolt. To separate the spindle from the upper control arm, remove the pinch bolt and then carefully pry the ball stud out of the spindle.
