- A:On vehicles with a manual transmission, the brake pedal pivots on the clutch pedal shaft, and both pedals can be removed. For automatic transmission models, the retaining clip is removed and the shaft is slid to the right to remove the brake pedal and pedal bushings. The master cylinder pushrod and brake switch assembly are disconnected and the pedal is removed. If the bushings are worn, they should be replaced before installing the pedal and pushrod using the reverse of the removal procedure.Posted by FordPartsGiant Specialist
