    1. Disconnect the electrical connection. 2. Use the special service tool: 501-D118A (or 501-0118), which is required to release the mounting clip. 3. Pull the lower edge of the mirror mount away from the windshield slightly (about 1 mm). 4. Slide the mirror off of the mirror base.
