How to inspect, remove, and install a rear shock absorber on Ford Explorer Sport Trac? Posted by Customer
    A:
The following processes should be followed in order to inspect the shock absorber ,- For removal, there should be a floor jack placing under the axle beside the shock absorber being removed to raise the vehicle little for taking off the load off the shock absorber. In the event the vehicle has Automatic Ride Control, first, check that the air suspension switch is off before lifting the vehicle to prevent harming ARC and air suspension system components. Remove the mounting bolt and separate the ARC electrical connector from the shock absorber harness, though if the vehicle is equipped with ARC, detach the air line by pulling on the ring and pulling out on the air line. Take off the nut and the bolt that fasten the lower end of the shock absorber to the spring plate and also the nut of upper end of the shock absorber to the bracket mounted on the top of the frame. To install make the process similar to the removal process but with the reverse order and ensure that all the nuts and bolts are tightened with the recommended torque.
