    Start by turning the ignition switch off, removing the coil wire, and grounding it. Then, touch the negative lead of a volt/ohmmeter to the distributor base and disconnect the pin-in-line connector near the distributor. Attach the positive lead of the volt/ohmmeter to the TFI module side of the connector, turn the ignition switch on, and bump the starter to measure voltage levels with the engine stationary.
