Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt.

The crankshaft pulley should be installed without hammering it on, and the pulley bolt should be tightened to the specified torque.

Coat the lip of the new seal with clean engine oil and drive it into the bore with a socket or section of pipe slightly smaller in diameter than the seal.

Insert the service tool into the spaces in the front face of the pulley to hold it in place while turning the crankshaft pulley bolt with a large wrench or socket breaker-bar combination. Caution: Failure to hold the crankshaft pulley securely while removing the pulley bolt could result in engine damage. Never rely on the timing pin or the camshaft service tool as a means of locking the crankshaft.
