The coupled hose and liquid line fittings should be disconnected using the special tool required.

Disconnect the cable at the negative battery terminal. On 2000 and later models, remove the battery. Have the air conditioning system discharged by a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning repair facility before proceeding with the condenser removal. Next, drain the engine coolant and remove the front grille and any components obstructing access to the condenser. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser, taking care to capture any residual refrigerant in a proper recovery system. Remove the mounting bolts securing the condenser to the vehicle frame, and carefully lift the condenser out of its mounting position. Inspect the area for any debris or damage before proceeding with the installation of the new condenser.
