After replacing the accumulator/drier, you should tighten the clamp bolt securely, reconnect the electrical connector, and connect the cable to the negative battery terminal. The system should then be evacuated, recharged, and leak tested by a professional.

To remove the accumulator/drier, you need to take the vehicle to a dealer service department or automotive air conditioning shop to have the system discharged. Then, disconnect the cable at the negative battery terminal. Next, disconnect the electrical connector at the compressor clutch cycling switch on top of the accumulator/drier. After that, disconnect the refrigerant inlet and outlet lines using the appropriate tools and cap or plug the open lines immediately. Finally, remove the nut from the mounting bracket and slide the accumulator/drier assembly out.
