Mercury Capri Air Filter Box

The Air Filter Box of the Mercury Capri prevents dust and debris from entering the engine by routing air through the air filter before the air reaches the combustion chamber. The Mercury Air Filter Box is a robust protective housing made to shield the filter element from dirt, leaves, and exhaust soot and to deliver an airflow that introduces only clean air into the manifold for combustion. By stopping the contaminants early, this unit stops abrasive particles from scarring those pistons, rings, cylinder walls, and valves. This Air Filter Box will maintain horsepower and fuel economy. Plus, excess metal shavings won't poison crankcase oil. Over the years of production, the Capri models retained this simple yet effective design for the chambers. This was done to increase reliability for Mercury owners rather than redesign it to something different. Thus, the driver will only notice shape changes to better fit the various engine bays in the case of modern Capri engines and not a different style of functioning either. The first line of defense is helping every Mercury Capri breathe freely and run strong, which is why the filter on the inside of the Air Filter Box needs to be replaced regularly. A well-sealed Air Filter Box means long engine life, and the design ensures optimal performance.
