- Q: How to remove the A/C Compressor on the Lincoln MKX?A:To remove the air conditioning system, start by having it recovered by a dealer service department or automotive air conditioning shop. Then, loosen the lug nuts on the right front wheel and raise the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the wheel, as well as the right front fender splash shield and engine splash shield. Take off the drivebelt and, for four-cylinder models, remove the mounting nut and stud from the rear of the compressor.
