To begin, insert a large screwdriver or prybar between the mount and the transaxle, prying up or down for the mount and left or right for the torque rod. Ensure the transaxle does not move excessively away from the mount; if it does, the mount should be replaced. For 2007 and earlier models, loosen the left front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the left front wheel and inner fender liner. Next, remove the transaxle mount-to-subframe and mount-to-transaxle case mounting bolts, then take out the mount, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2008 and later models, first remove the battery and battery tray, followed by the air filter housing. Support the transaxle with a floor jack or engine support, then remove the through-bolt nut and bolt along with the mount-to-chassis bolts before taking out the mount, raising the transaxle slightly if necessary for clearance. After removing the remaining mount bolts, installation will be the reverse of removal, ensuring all mount fasteners are installed before tightening any. To address the torque rod, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the splash shield and disconnect and lower the exhaust y-pipe. Finally, remove the torque rod bolts and take out the torque rod, with installation being the reverse of removal.
