To begin, turn the windshield wiper switch On and the
Ignition Switch on, keeping your hand on the key; when the wiper arms move to the straight up position, turn the ignition switch Off. Next, disconnect the negative cable from the battery. For 2010 and earlier models, remove the right side wiper arm and blade assembly, then take off the pivot nut from the right side linkage post, allowing the linkage to drop down into the cowl. Remove the wiper linkage access cover, reach through the access opening to unsnap the wiper motor clip, push the clip away from the linkage until it clears the crank pin nib, and then push the clip off the linkage. Remove the wiper linkage from the motor crankpin, disconnect the electrical connector from the motor, and remove the screws securing the motor to take it out. Ensure the wiper blades are in the parked position before attaching the linkage to the motor, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2011 models, disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor, remove the wiper arms, and then take out the mounting bolts and stud to remove the wiper motor. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to install the left wiper arm first, then the right arm, making sure the wiper motor clip is fully seated on the pivot shaft to prevent damage, and tighten the wiper motor fasteners to 80 in-lbs.
