The bumper is heavy and somewhat awkward to remove and install, so at least two people should perform this procedure. For 2010 and earlier models, if the vehicle has fog lights, unbolt their brackets and remove them from the bumper. Support the bumper with a jack and block of wood, then remove the mounting nuts on each side to detach the bumper from the vehicle. Next, remove the screws and pushpins to detach the valance panel from the bumper, and installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the fasteners are tightened securely. For 2011 models, the bumper and bumper covers must be removed as an assembly. If equipped with fog lights, disconnect the electrical connectors, then remove the nuts to take off the front bumper and bumper cover as an assembly. The lower bumper cover is attached with clips, which should be detached for removal. If replacing the lower bumper cover, remove the fog lights from it. The upper bumper cover is attached with plastic rivets; use a punch to drive out the rivets and remove the upper cover. Installation is the reverse of removal, with bumper fasteners tightened to 41 ft-lbs.
