The accompanying photos depict the electronic two-barrel throttle body used on 4.6L V8 models, while the electronic one-barrel throttle body is used on all other models. Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Next, remove the strut tower cross brace mounting nuts and the brace, if equipped. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the electronic throttle control motor and the Throttle Position (TP) sensor by sliding out the lock toward the harness, then depressing the release tab to pull off the connector. Remove the air intake duct. Then, take out the four throttle body mounting fasteners and remove the throttle body. Remove the old throttle body gasket, discarding it, and inspect the condition of the gasket; if damaged, replace it, but if undamaged, it can be reused. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to use a new gasket if necessary and tightening the throttle body mounting fasteners.
