To work with the antenna mast, first unscrew it from the base, taking care not to scratch the paint, and then reinstall it by reversing the removal process. For the antenna mounting base and outer antenna cable, begin by removing the antenna mast, then carefully pry off the antenna mounting base cap and detach the three screws securing the mounting base to the fender. Next, remove the glove box, disconnect the outer antenna cable from the inner antenna cable by reaching through the glove box opening, and loosen the front right wheel lug nuts before raising the vehicle and removing the right front wheel. Take out the inner fender splash shield and trace the outer cable to the rubber grommet, noting its routing for proper installation of the new cable. From inside the wheel well, detach the outer antenna cable retainer pin, pry out the cable grommet, and pull the cable through the grommet hole. Remove the antenna mounting base and outer antenna cable by pulling them straight up through the base mounting hole, and reinstall by reversing the removal steps. The inner antenna cable connects the outer antenna cable to the radio; to access it, remove the glove box again, disconnect the inner antenna cable from the outer cable, and then remove the radio to disconnect the inner antenna cable from its backside. Reinstallation follows the reverse order of removal.
