To remove the wheel, start by loosening the lug nuts and raising the vehicle on jackstands. Once the vehicle is securely supported, remove the wheel. Next, support the axle with a floor jack and raise it slightly to take the weight off the spring. Disconnect the lower end of the
Shock Absorber from the front spring plate spacer. If necessary, remove the tracking bar to lower the spring plate bolt on F350 monobeam. Remove the spring to axle U-bolt nuts, U-bolt, and spacer. Remove the nut from the hanger bolt at the rear of the spring and drive the hanger bolt out of the spring eye. Remove the nut connecting the front shackle and spring eye, and remove the bolt in the same manner. Finally, remove the spring from under the vehicle. If the spring eye bushings are worn or damaged, they should be replaced by an automotive repair shop with the necessary tools. To install the spring, position it on the axle spring seat and install the front lower shackle bolt through the shackle and spring. Tighten the bolt to the specified torque. Position the rear of the spring and install the hanger bolt through the hanger and spring, tightening it to the specified torque. Install the front spring plate spacer and install the axle U-bolts through the holes in the U-bolt spacer, finger tightening the U-bolt nuts. Connect the lower end of the shock absorber to the front spring plate spacer. Install the wheel, lower the vehicle to the ground, and tighten the U-bolt nuts and lug nuts to the specified torque.
