How to remove and install the Center Console Base on Ford Explorer Sport Trac?

Disconnect the negative battery cable, then the positive battery cable, and wait two minutes before proceeding. For the base model, remove the two plastic screw covers on each side of the console, followed by the four bolts and the armrest. Next, take out the screw in the armrest opening, then remove the screws retaining the cup holder and take out the cup holder. After that, remove the two screws securing the front half of the console and take out the console, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the high line model, press in on the sides of the front trim panel/message center to unsnap the retaining clips and remove the panel after disconnecting the electrical connectors. Use the same procedure to remove the rear trim panel/cup holder from the console.
